Labels!

When I started sewing, I didn’t think I’d ever have a need for labels. I wasn’t sure I’d ever make anything I’d want my name on, and at the time I didn’t imagine I’d ever be selling my items… Since I’ve started selling a few, I decided that a label might be nice… if only to make things look a bit more official! (and I admit it, I’d love to see someone in our local grocery store carrying one of my market bags, complete with a tag!)

I ordered these a couple weeks ago and just received them. It’s nothing too fancy – just my name printed on a woven label or ribbon, but I think they’re pretty great! Unfortunately, I haven’t finished anything lately, so I haven’t had a chance to use any yet.

I chose the name Adelaides because I wanted something that was related to my name without actually using my name. My name is Ashley, but my mom often calls me Adelaide, so that was a logical choice.

(Of course, www.adelaides.com is already taken, so if I ever wanted a website, I’ll have to think of how to tie everything together – although come to think of it, how do you tie the name Filminthefridge with anything?! If you want to know the truth, this blog was supposed to be a photo blog, and then the name would have made more sense! It was already set up when I decided I’d focus more on sewing and crafts, so being lazy, I just left it as it was.)

Anyway, that’s a side note, but something I probably should have explained long ago! So there you have it… mystery solved.

Hope you’re all having a lovely day!
