I have just started quilting and so far have not used any patterns. I think it’s more fun that way at least for me. I don’t have lots of time, but am enjoying it. I love that I can take my quilt in the car with me and work on it while my husband drives.

Happy day to you, Ashley. I’m so impressed with the number of quilts you have created in such a short amount of time. You have had a steep learning curve. I have been quilting for about four years and notice how much my style has changed in that period of time. I could only applique when I started. Now I’m comfortable doing much more. I get a lot of inspiration from your blog both in the quilts and with the photography. I find myself challenged to take more leaps of faith with fabric and that is good.

well this is my first time at your site. i found you through flickr. i have been quilting for 8 years and i have 5 finished quilts. it’s amazing that you have been able to complete so many projects in just one year. i started my first quilt because i was designing buildings on the computer all day and i really missed that feeling you get when you’re physically building something. so i taught myself how to sew a straight line and made a very simple twin sized 4″ patchwork. my hands ached and i loved it. i’ve just recently started exploring the world of handmade on the internet and it makes me so happy to know that you make beautiful things and there are 530 comments before me! ha! the revolution is here!

Your quilts are fantastic! I love the giant wonky star and am thinking about doing something like that on the back of a quilt I’m making for my MIL. Keep them coming–you are always inspiring!

I have only made two so far, one for each daughter, but I have grand plans for a big scrap quilt for our bed. Thank you for sharing your quilts and your passion with all of us!

You’re doing amazingly well for such a new quilter. I like to make quilts up as I go along mostly. Ilike to mix up different fabric lines and I like either straight lines or wonky. Your blog is very inspirational.
